How WHOT Tournaments Work

From registration to crowning a champion — here's the whole flow.

1

Registration

Players sign up, pay, and receive a unique Player ID. Moderators can verify any ID at any time using the verify page.
2

Group Assignment

Registered players are split into balanced groups (e.g. Group A, Group B). Assignment can be random or seeded by the admin.
Group A: Player 1 · Player 2 · Player 3 · Player 4
Group B: Player 5 · Player 6 · Player 7 · Player 8
3

Fixture Generation

Inside each group, every player plays every other player once (round-robin). Fixtures are generated automatically and shown on the public tournament page.
Round 1
A vs B
C vs D
4

Match Rules

Standard WHOT rules apply. Each match has one winner — no draws. If a player no-shows, the opponent receives a walkover.
5

Table Calculation

The group table updates automatically after every result.
Win = 3 points
Loss = 0 points
Tie-breakers: total points → win % → head-to-head
6

Qualification

The top N players from each group qualify for the knockout stage (N is set per tournament, usually the top 2). Players outside the cutoff are eliminated.
7

Knockout Stage

Qualified players are slotted into a single-elimination bracket: Quarter-finals → Semi-finals → Final. Lose once and you're out.
8

Final

The two players left standing meet in the final. The winner is crowned 🏆 Champion on the tournament page.
